Merci Abidal

Today, during Éric Abidal’s press conference with Sandro Rosell, president of the club, and Andoni Zubizarreta, director of football,  it was announced that Éric Abidal will be leaving the team after this season ends. Abidal said that it was the club’s decision, not his own, but that he respects it. Rosell made it clear that Barça’s doors will always be open for him, but only in a non-sporting position.

This has led to a big discussion about whether the club made a good decision or not. Personally, I have mixed feelings about this.

Copa Catalunya Champions!

FC Barcelona is the new Copa Catalunya champion!!

Yesterday’s final match against Espanyol was tough for Barça; Espanyol scored the opener with Simao in the first half. Barça had a few good chances, which were saved by the other side’s goalkeeper, Kiko Casilla, apparently very decided not to let any blaugrana shots get into his goal. Unfortunately for him, Fàbregas’ shot did go in, after an assist by Song, leveling the score just moments before the end of the second half.
